a) Students are to form learning groups. Each student in their group will assume a responsibility that he/she will carry on within the group for one week on the duration of one month. There will be a graphic schedule to be filed-in with the group members' names and duties for the week on the classroom board.
The responsibilities are:
- bring art supplies from the cabinets
- clean up at the end of the class
- present the project to the class
- communicate with the teacher or other groups if needed
- take notes/ keep journal
b) students to behave responsibly and respectfully toward each other and teacher; conflicts are resolved within the group first, then if the need would arise, with the class and teacher.
The class will have a glass suggestions' jar where students are encouraged to place comments, suggestions, or requests.
The reason behind the class jar: the transparency will allow to see if there is(are) a ticket(s), so that students to start the clean up earlier to have time to go over them.
Suggestions to be reviewed during the last 10 minutes of the class. The most controversial ones would need to be 'sleep on it', and to be discussed at the next class. Anonymous suggestions are not accepted or reviewed unless they are voted for by the class.
